He also underlined the fact that only 15% of the cargo is transported by rail. \u201cThat is the trend that both the EU and Poland want to change,\u201d he added.<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\nIn future perspective and in financial plan of the EU, Poland is going to receive a \u201chuge boost\u201d of 67 bln meant for development of railway transportation. \u201cSpending that amount of money would certainly modernize the Polish railway lines, and improve the conditions of the travel. Railway would become the most modern way of transportation, and increasingly more cargo would be transported in that way,\u201d emphasized the Deputy Minister.<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\n\u201cIn the plan itself, special emphasis was put on the Responsible Development of railway transport, and that would include building and modernization of railway lines, as well as increasing the number of railway carriages, and that is what the Deputy Minister said as well. \u201cOne of the programs within the plan is the Luxtorpeda program, meant mostly for the railway manufacturers of carriages. We can boast many technological advancements in that field. Poland is home to at least two manufacturers, Pesa and Newag. Both produce railway carriages of high, international standards, and that is the branch of economy that we want to support.
